Basketball Jersey of Vanessa LeBlond Raised Into Wall of Honor
Castine, ME - The MMA Athletic department and the Women's Basketball program honored the jersey of 1999-00' graduate Vanessa "Vinny" LeBlond on Saturday prior to their game.
Vanessa's #32 jersey is the first to be hung on the Wall of Honor inside of Margaret Smith Gymnasium. During her days at MMA, Vanessa was part of three conference championships, scored 1,100 points and grabbed 899 rebounds.
Vanessa was also inducted into the William J. Mottola Mariner Athletics Hall of Fame earlier this fall. She is the first female athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Vanessa graduated from the Mariner Biology program at Maine Maritime.
Vanessa is married to Brad Vigue, also an MMA grad. They reside in Portland with their daughter Kaitlin. Vanessa is a microbiologist at a Portland company.
