Ben Tanoff joins the Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball program for his first season as Assistant Coach. 

Tanoff served as the men's basketball Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky for the past two seasons, while earning a Masters in Business Adminstration. While at UPike, Tanoff was involved in all aspects of the program from scouting and coaching to social media production. Additionally, as the head coach for  the UPike men's basketball JV team, Tanoff lead them to the 2018 Mid-South Conference JV championship. For his work, Tanoff earned the 2018-2019 UPike Graduate Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Prior to his time at UPike, Tanoff helped rebuild the boy's basketball program at the Lowcountry Preparatory School (Pawleys Island, S.C.), leading the program to its first two South Carolina Independent Schools Association state tournaments in school history.

In 2014, Tanoff graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and Economics from Kenyon College, where he was a two-year captain of the Cross Country Team. Tanoff spends his summers working as a summer camp basketball coach having worked for programs such as the University of Dayton, Providence College, Indiana University, Virginia Tech, and the Hoop Group.
