2020 Staff Spotlight

Tapley enters his tenth season as the Head Golf Coach at Maine Maritime Academy. The Mariners did not compete in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Tapley led the Mariners to a sixth place finish at the 2021 NAC Championships and a seventh place finish at the 222 NAC Championship. Tapley is a certified Class A PGA Professional at Castine Golf Club.

Before taking over the helm, Tapley assisted Mariners' coach Craig Dagan during the 2013 season. The pair led Maine Maritime to a third place finish at the 2013 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship tournament at Samoset in October.

Tapley was elected as a PGA member at the age of 23 and has conducted over 2,000 individual lessons. Tapley holds PGA, GolfPsych, and Titleist Performance Institute certifications. Tapley spent six years as the Assistant Professional at Northeast Harbor Golf Club, before moving onto Atlantis Golf Club (Fla.). He completed his PGA Apprenticeship at Kebo Valley Golf Club.

A Dean's List student and 2007 graduate of Coastal Carolina, Tapley earned a degree in Professional Golf Management.
