Most recently, Melville guided the Mariners to their third consecutive NAC championship game, after a 10-4 regular-season and 7-1 conference record.

In 2024, Melville’s Mariners continued to excel on and off the field, earning the top seed in the NAC Tournament, landing seven players on the all-conference team, and earning a 2024 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Academic Team Award honor for the first time in program history.

In 2023, the Mariners claimed their second-straight conference championship, after a 12-3 regular season record and an unblemished 8-0 conference record. earned the right to host an NCAA Tournament game in Castine for the first time in Mariners Athletics history.

Under Melville’s guidance, the Mariners shattered a number of team records in 2023 including: points scored (588), goals (342), assists (246), man-up goals (43), man-down goals (9), ground balls (722), saves (221), and wins (14) and led all NCAA Division III teams in assists per game and points per game. During the regular season, a number of Melville’s players consistently earned national and regional recognition with weekly honors, and at the conclusion of the season, landed six players on the All-Conference Team, including three First Team NAC selections and NAC Player of the Year, Jayden Wilson.

In 2022, Melville guided the Mariners to their first ever NAC championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance after a 7-6 regular season record. The Mariners entered the NAC Tournament as the fourth seed and pulled off two thrilling come-from-behind victories to upset the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds, to claim the program’s first Conference Championship.

During Melville’s tenure the Mariners also became the first team in the NAC to be deemed a Purple Heart Team and one of the first in NCAA across all three divisions, after hosting their inaugural Purple Heart Game on April 20, 2022.

Melville led the Mariners to a 2-1 record in the team's shortened 2021 season due to the pandemic and shortened academic calendar. In his first season with the Mariners, Melville led the team to a 3-1 record in 2020, the best start in program history since 2009, before the season was halted due to the start of the pandemic. Despite the shortened 2020 season, Melville's Mariners were recognized in the NAC and nationally for their contributions on the field and in the classroom, as senior defender Nathan Granholm earned NAC Man of the Year honors and was named a USILA Scholar All-American.
