LaSashia Connelly returns for her fourth season as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach after helping lead the Mariners to a 20-6 record in 2019-20 and a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Tournament appearances. Connelly also serves as the SAAC Advisor and Admissions Counselor at Maine Maritime Academy.
 
Connelly came to Maine Maritime after serving as a Assistant Coach for one season at Lenoir-Rhyne University under Head Coach Katie Pate. Connelly helped the Bears to a 17-12 record in 2016-17, their most victories since the 2013-14 campaign, and boasted the nation’s eighth-best scoring defense (55.4). While at LR, Connelly also became the advisor of the Student-Athlete Academic Committee where she loved to give back to the student-athlete experience. For the Bears, Connelly worked with the coaching staff in practice and game preparation, as well as basketball operations, recruiting administration and game film.
 
A 2014 graduate of Salem College, Connelly was a four year student-athlete under the coaching staff of Anita Howard. As a student-athlete at Salem, Connelly and was part of the women's basketball team that made two Great South Athletic Conference Championship appearances and won the 2013-2014 GSAC Regular Season and Championship titles. Following the most victorious season in Salem College women's basketball history (21-5), the Spirits advanced to the NCAA Tournament that year and fell to the No. 1 seed in the country, Thomas More College, in the first round.
