Hometown: Waltham, Maine

Major: Power Engineering Technology

Anticipated Graduation Year: 2021

What made you come to Maine Maritime Academy?: Great job placement, great environment and great education.

What first got you interested in your sport?: I missed being able to practice and be a part of a team. Cross country was a great way to go work out and provide a little stability to my schedule. I also missed competing in track and cross country gave me that opportunity.

What has been your favorite class at MMA?: Steam Power Systems.

What is the best advice your coach has given you?: Get the most out of your time at MMA, get involved in things and be well rounded.

What motivates you to succeed?: My high school coach told me I would never run cross country and that I was too heavy to finish collegiate races, I just want to go out and prove him wrong.

What is your favorite book? (Non-academic): Inca Gold by Clive Cussler.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?: I used to be really good at sewing. I used to get community service in high school to sew for the theater department's musicals and plays.

What are your hopes for the future?: I'd like to graduate and work in a renewable energy field.

What is your favorite spot in Castine/on Campus? Why?: I love to go into Witherly Woods with a hammock to study, it's super quiet and a relaxing place to study.

What advice do you have for incoming freshman?: Do something when you get here. Getting involved in a sport or a club makes the transition to college easier because you're starting out by making a group of friends

What are three things you have with you at all times?: A water bottle, a calculator, and my school ID.

Which teammate has had the biggest impact on you? Why?: Abby L'abbe has always been a great teammate and taught me that it's not about being the fastest on the team or being the best runner, it's about meeting your own personal goals and being the best you can be.

Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?: JJ Watt, extremely talented, a hard worker, and decent person off the field.
