Hometown: South Portland, Maine

Major: Marine Engineering Technology

Anticipated Graduation Year: 2018

What made you come to Maine Maritime Academy? Excellent career and opportunities after graduation.

What first got you interested in your sport? Football has been my favorite sport my entire life.

What has been your favorite class at MMA? Medcare.

What is the best advice your coach has given you? Treat this team like your brotherhood because chances are we will all be working together on a ship side by side when we graduate.

What motivates you to succeed? Lots of things. God, to begin with has blessed me with this opportunity and my family. I also love what I do.

What is your prized possession? My family, they mean everything to me.

What is your favorite book? (Non-academic) Transall Saga.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you? I play a lot of piano and play a lot of video games.

What are your hopes for the future? To be able to provide for my family and pay back my parents and everyone who helped get me through here.

What advice do you have for incoming freshman? This school can be difficult at times, but life will always throw adversity at you. Keep your head up and just do your best and you will fly through here. It's all worth it in the end.

What has been your favorite moment so far while playing at MMA? The friendships I have made. Because in reality I will see lots of my brothers out at sea and to be bonded for four years playing the best sport on earth together all through college is no easy task. If it was, everyone would do it. All four years stepping on the field has been my favorite.

Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why? My favorite professional athlete is Sean Taylor. Sean was safety for the Washington Redskins and was shot and killed in his own home in 2007. He's my favorite because he has a rough life growing up and even when drafted, fell in with the wrong crowds. However, Joe Gibbs (Redskins head coach) helped him turn his life around and not only was he dominating on the field but he also was getting his life back together off the field and shows that adversity can hit hard but can always be handled.
