What made you come to Maine Maritime Academy? The small school atmosphere and the hands-on experience.
What first got you interested in your sport? When I was in middle school, quite of my friends played, so basically it was peer pressure at it's finest and I have been playing ever since! When I got to MMA as a freshman there wasn't a lacrosse team, but I heard about starting a club team and I decided to try it out!
What has been your favorite class at MMA? Marine Botany.
What is the best advice your coach has given you? Don't talk about it, be about it.
What motivates you to succeed? My teammates, especially the ones that have been there since the very beginning, we started together, and without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. We've made history.
What is your prized possession? A necklace my dad gave me, you'll never see me without it.
What is your favorite book? (Non-academic) Angela's Ashes.
What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you? I'm a lifeguard and love to scuba dive, but have wicked fear of drowning.
What are your hopes for the future? Someday I want to work with sharks!
What advice do you have for incoming freshman? Don't be afraid to join things, whether that's clubs, sports, organizations on or off campus. You'll have a better experience the more you're open to trying new things!
What has been your favorite moment so far while playing at MMA? The first win MMA lacrosse has ever had, it was an amazing feeling and I got to experience it with some of the best women I have ever met.
What are three things you have with you at all times? My cellphone, my necklace, and in my backpack is a little packet of salt reminding me to take everything life throws at me with a grain of salt..as cheesy as that is.
Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why? Michael Phelps, because everyone can run or throw a ball, but not everyone can do what swimmers do. It's 90% mental, 10% physical, and he's a force to be reckoned with.
