Lady Mariner Cross Country Team Places Second At Mariner Invitational

Castine , ME - The Maine Maritime Women's Cross Country team came in second place at  the second annual Mariner Invitational on Friday evening. The Lady Mariners had three runners finish in the top 10.

 

Husson University won the meet with a score of 19 while MMA finshed second with a score of 38. Thomas College, UMaine Presque Isle, and UMaine Machias also competed but failed to collect team scores.

 

Angela Stauble from Husson won the individual title with a time of 16:13 on the 4k course. Laura Coyne from Thomas placed second with a time of 16:42 while Theresa Martin (Husson), Carly Langley (UMPI), and Kaitlin Noyes (Husson) rounded out the top five.

 

Laurel Evanofski (Contoocook, NH) was the top MMA runner with a time of 19:03 (8th). Emily Fanning (New Boston, NH) placed 9th, Jaymie Frederick (Exeter, NH) 10th, Heather Moore Macedon, NY) 11th, and Samantha Deplanche (Dover, NH) 17th all scored for MMA.
