Mariners Cruise Past Thomas 26-5

Waterville, ME – Maine Maritime (3-3, 3-1 NAC) defeated Thomas College, 26-5, in a North Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse contest on the Waterville campus on Thursday afternoon.

Christopher Keiley '11 (Holliston, MA) scored a game-high six goals for the visitors and Mariners' goalkeeper Kevin Boucher '12 (Gorham, ME) made 9 saves in net to help his team earn the conference win on the road.

In the first period, Maine Maritime led 9-2 with Andrew DiSalvo (Glastonbury, CT), Tom Houle (Manchester, NH), and Wade Mondoux (North Berwick, ME) each getting 2 goals. Thomas College players Sean Machin (Brunswick, ME) and Kevin Averil (Mt. Blue) scored the 2 goals for the Terriers. 

MMA added five more goals in the second quarter with Keiley tallying two goals and an assist in that time frame to help MMA to a 14-3 halftime lead.

MMA continued the onslaught in the third period, scoring 11 times to increase the lead to 25-4. Richard McKee (Plymouth, MA) and Keiley each had three goals in the period while Tom Houle (Manchester, NH) scored twice.

Chris Keiley led the Mariners with nine points on the day, while Richard McKee had eight points. Tom Houle and Andrew DiSalvo (Glastonbury, CT) collected seven points each for the Mariners while Dennis St. Pierre (So. Berwick, ME) and Todd Murphy (Middlesex, VT) each had five.
