Box Score BANGOR, Maine -- Philip Frost scored two goals and assisted on another, but it was Tyler Metevier who netted the game winner as Husson defeated Maine Maritime Academy 4-0 in the North Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Semifinals.
Metevier headed home a long throw-in 3:39 into the second half. It held up as the game-winner as the Mariners (9-5-3) were unable to solve Eagles (12-6-1) keeper, Brian Potter. Potter turned away five of Maine Maritime's 15 shots. Metevier's goal was the first scored against William Trace Lacour (Charlottesville, Va.) in 359:45. He was credited with one save in the loss.
The Eagles struck again 9:55 later and 10:22 after that. Zach Emeigh booted home a blast from 35-yards out in the 59th minute. Frost, the reigning NAC Player of the Week, was credited with an assist on the goal. Emeigh returned the favor in the 69th minute, setting up a Frost header off of a set piece. Frost then scored unassisted at the 80-minute mark.
The loss wraps the Mariners season at 9-5-3. Husson advances to the NAC Championship Finals where they will face Castleton, 2-1 winners over Maine-Farmington in Wednesday's other semifinal.
