CASTINE, Maine – Junior Andrew DiSalvo (Glastonbury, CT) collected seven points while senior Chris Keiley (Holliston, MA) added six points, propelling Maine Maritime Academy to a 16-7 win over Johnson State College Sunday evening in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's lacrosse action.

With the win MMA improves its record at 5-3, and 4-2 in conference play. Johnson falls to 1-6, 1-4.

Andrew DiSalvo led all players with seven points including two goals and five assists while Keiley notched five goals on the day. Alex Hermes (Fallingston, Pa.) scored four goals while Todd Murphy (Middlesex, Vt.) and Tom Houle (Manchester, NH) had two goals each. Brian Corain (Berwick, Me.) played well in the victory collecting four assists.

Alex Petti (East Greenwich, RI) led the Badgers with four goals while Justin Connolly (Jeffersonville, VT), Justin Nelson (Lakeville, MA), and Branden Sawyer (East Greenwich, RI) each tallied a goal for the visitors.

Maine Maritime led 6-0 after the first period, getting two goals each from DiSalvo, Keiley and Hermes. Johnson State got it's first goal of the game on a Alex Petti shot from 15-yards to close the gap to 7-1. The Mariners scored the final two goals of the second quarter and took a 9-1 lead into the half.

Maine Maritime would get six third quarter goals, two from Tom Houle, Hermes, and Keiley while Johnson State tallied three of their own. The third quarter ended with MMA leading 15-4.

Ryan Williams (Cumberland, ME) notched MMA's 16th goal early in the fourth quarter but was quickly matched by a Justin Connolly goal for Johnson. The Badgers would add two more goals in the fourth quarter. Senior Mark Keene (Anchorage, AK) capped off the afternoon for the Mariners with his first goal of the season to complete the scoring at 18-7.

Maine Maritime held a 52-31 advantage in the shot column but was hampered with 28 turnovers on the day.

Erik Milles (Bangor, Me.) collected the win for the Mariners, making five saves, while Branden Sawyer took the loss for Johnson.
