Box Score

CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime netted a pair of scores in each half to shutout University of Maine-Farmington 4-0 in the North Atlantic Conference men's soccer quarterfinal Sunday. The Beavers ended their season at 4-13-1, while the Mariners won their eighth-straight match and improved to 11-4-2.

The Mariners went on the board early in the game when Kyle Haslam drilled a shot from 25 yards away that found the back of the net in the seventh minute. It was Haslam's first score of the season.

Jonathan Reeks quickly made it 3-0 when he redirected a Bryan Soucy kick in the 45th minute. Soucy sent a shot from the left side and Reeks tapped the ball into the net for his ninth goal of the season. The Mariners netted their last shot when Nicholas George sent a penalty kick to the right side of the goal for his 12th goal of the season.

Maine Maritime's defense was solid throughout the contest by limiting the Beavers to five shots, three on goal, and zero corner kicks. Jesse Perkins stopped three shots in goal for the Mariners to pick up the win, while Derek Reily stopped 11 shots for Farmington.
