Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer fell to New England College 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference play.
NEC's Ronsard Masamba put the Pilgrims on the board in the 35th minute on a penalty kick. The Pilgrims extended their lead to 2-0 just over a minute later as Michael Skarbelis snuck a pass through two Mariner defenders and found the foot of Sina Samali who grabbed his fourth goal of the season.
The Pilgrims added an insurance goal in the second half when Michael Skarbelis scored his team-high 19th goal of the season, putting in a loose ball in the box.
New England College's Tenzin Khenrab recorded four saves in the shutout victory, while Maine Maritime keeper Joshua Reeks (Bedford, N.H.) stopped seven Pilgrim shots on the afternoon.
The loss drops the Mariners to 3-9-1 on the season and 2-3-1 in the NAC. Maine Maritime returns home on Tuesday, October 20 against Thomas College on Senior Night at 7:30 p.m.
