Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse cruised to a 16-2 victory over Thomas College on Wednesday night in North Atlantic Conference play at Ritchie Field.
Peter Moore (Scarborough, Maine) led the Mariners with six goals, while Nicholas Betti (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) grabbed four goals and Dean Samuelson (Ellsworth, Maine) added three goals and an assist. Tim Grant (East Northport, N.Y.), Mike Fuller (Portland, Maine) and A.J. Larrabee (Farmington, Maine) added the other goals for the Mariners.
Jack Tragert (Naples, Maine) was once again impressive on the face-off going, 17 of 18, and scooping up 13 ground balls. Ryan McLellan (Sidney, Maine), Ian Larcom (Middletown, R.I.), and Larrabee caused three turnovers each. James Wilgus (Phippsburg, Maine) grabbed the victory in net for the Mariners stopping four shots.
Cody Blondin and Parker Chute picked up goals for the Terriers. Sheldon Jones and Chute scooped up five ground balls, while William Prue led Thomas with four caused turnovers. Connor Lamberton recorded 15 shots in net for the Terriers.
Maine Maritime improves to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in North Atlantic Conference play, while the Terriers fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the NAC.
The Mariners hit the road to take on Green Mountain College on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. The North Atlantic Conference game will be held at Castleton State College, inside of Spartan Stadium.
