BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country finished second at the Husson Harrier Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Saxl Park. Freshman Nerissa Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) finished 8th overall, out of 83 runners, to pace the Mariners with a time of 22:47.7 on the 5k course.
Freshman Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) finished in 12th place (23:39.9), followed by Julia Dillon (South Paris, Maine) in 13th, and Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) in 14th (23:42.5). Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) placed 22nd (24.21.4) to round out the top five runners for the Mariners.
New England College's Abby Shaffer finished 1st overall, followed by teammate Allison Granata, and Maine-Farmington claimed the team victory with three runners in the top 10.
Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, September 12th when they compete at the University of New England Invitational in Biddeford, Maine. The Mariners will return to Saxl Park later this season, on October 31st for the North Atlantic Conference Championship.
