Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer fell to Colby-Sawyer 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, in North Atlantic Conference action.
The two teams went scoreless for the opening 33 minutes, until Colby-Sawyer's Eddie Garcia snuck a ball into net from about 25 yards out, beating Mariner keeper Kyle Townsend (Hampden, Maine).
The Chargers added two goals in the second half, first on a header from Noah Camelo on a corner kick from Andrew Clothier in the 56th minute and then on a deflection from Devin Kelly in the 77th minute.
Ike Doiron (Wilton, Maine) led the Mariners with two shots, white teammate Erik Andreasen (Gorham, Maine) and Dalton Moore (Hollis Center, Maine) tallied the other tries for Maine Maritime.
Townsend ended the afternoon with an impressive nine saves, while Colby-Sawyer's Sean Babinski earned the win in net with no saves.
The Mariners fall to 4-8-1 overall and 3-3 in the NAC, while the Chargers improve to 8-4-1 on the season and 5-1-1 in the conference. Maine Maritime returns to action tomorrow at 3:00 pm when they host Bates College in a non-conference match.
