Faltings Paces Mariners at State of Maine Championships

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country placed seventh at the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) finished 60th overall, with a time of 22:29 to lead the Mariners, followed by Nerissa Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 78th, and Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) in 83rd. Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) finished 90th overall and Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) placed 93rd to round out the top-five finishers for the Mariners.

Bates College claimed the overall team victory, followed by Bowdoin College and Colby College. Bowdoin's Sarah Kelley was the top finisher with a time of 18:38 on the 5K course. 

The Mariners return to action in two weeks at the North Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Johnson State College on Saturday, October 29.
