DARTMOUTH, Maine – Senior captain Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) led the Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country team to a 34th place finish, out of 37 teams, at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Faltings placed 189th out of the 275 runners with a time of 22:27 on the 5k course. Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) placed 210th overall with a time of 23:03 followed closely by teammate Nerissa Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) in 216th. Julia Dillon (Norway, Maine) finished 230th and Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) placed 235th to round out the top five finishers for the Mariners.
Brandeis took the overall team victory with three finishers in the top ten, and American International's Pascalin Jerotich claimed the top spot with a time of 17:41.
The Mariners return to action next Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational II.
