WATERVILLE, Maine -- Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) led Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country at the Thomas Invitational on Friday afternoon.
James completed the 5K course in a time of 21:27.8 to place fourth overall, while teammate Alex Allen (Easton, Maine) finished 13th with a time of 23:56.9.
Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) placed 16th with a time of 24:25.1 just ahead of Jessica Lindsay (Limestone, Maine) in 21st place with a time of 26:54.7.
UMaine-Presque Isle's Valentine Degiovanni took first place overall, completing the course in 20:24.2.
The Mariners return to action next Sunday, October 28 when they host the North Atlantic Conference Championship at the Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, Maine.
