Mariners Race at Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country competed at the Suffolk invitational today in Franklin Park.

Senior Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) led the Mariners finishing 140th out of 202 runners on the 5k course with a time of 24:31.0. Senior Nerissa Cyr (Caribou, Maine) finished a few spots behind L'Abbe in 146th with a time of 24:58.9.

Freshman Lily Cook (Southwest Harbor, Maine) finished in 153rd with a time of 25:27.4 while Senior Jessica Lindsay (Limestone, Maine), rounded out the four Mariners running on the day in 195th place, with a time of 30:09.3.

Smith College took home team first place with a score of 40, Stevens Institute placed second with a score of 89 while Colby Sawyer rounded out the top three with a score of 112. Suffolk University's Emily Manfra was the top finisher with a time of 18:39.0.

Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, October 26, when they travel to compete in the Bowdoin Invitational II in Brunswick, Maine scheduled for 12:00 PM.
