WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming and diving competed at the Maine State Collegiate Meet in the Aquatics Center at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center, hosted by Colby College. The Mariners placed sixth out of seven teams in the two-day event, setting 10 new school records.
Friday Highlights
- Relay team of Liza Zhukov (Barrington, R.I.), Sam Durkin (Green Lane, Penn.), Ellie Gellerson (Blue Hill, Maine), and Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine) placed 19th overall in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:52.59, setting a new school record
- Zayna Dickson (Urbandale, Iowa) set a new school record the 500 free, placing 26th with a time of 6:00.14, while teammate Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished just behind in 27th with a time of 6:01.85
- Reny finished 29th in the 50 fly with a time of 30.14
- Gellerson placed 18th in the 50 breast with a time of 34.59, setting a new school record
- Cook-Sharp finished 27th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:33.22
- Zhukov placed 29th in the 50 back, setting another school record, with a time of 31.58
Saturday Highlights
- Relay team of Zhukov, Gellerson, Cook-Sharp and Dickson placed 20th in the 200 medley relay, setting a new school record, with a time of 2:04.71
- Cook-Sharp placed 18th in the 400 IM with a time of 5:25.31
- Reny finished 22nd in the 100 fly with a time of 1:11.62
- Dickson placed 44th in the 200 free with a time of 2:16.09
- Gellerson finished 22nd in the 100 breast with a time of 1:17.77
- Zhukov finished 32nd in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.60, setting a new school record
- Cook-Sharp set a new school record in the 1650 free finishing 10th with a time of 20:42.19 and Eva Schulz (Evergreen, Colo.) finished 11th with a time of 20:44.69
- Zhukov placed 24th in the 200 back, setting a new school record, with a time of 2:26.28
- Dickson placed 50th in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.36
- Gellerson finished 15th in the 200 breast, setting a new school record, with a time of 2:49.89, Dentremont finished 16th with a time of 2:55.75, and Cook-Sharp in 17th with a time 2:57.95
- Zhukov placed 42nd in the 100 IM with a time of 1:09.09, setting a new school record
- Relay team of Dickson, Schulz, Reny, and Zhukov placed 17th in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:09.23
