Mariners Defeat Hornets

 LYNDONVILLE, VT – Mariners volleyball hits .400 in a 3-0 (25-12, 25-3, 25-9) conference win against NVU-Lyndon on Sunday afternoon.
 
How it Happened: The Mariners dominated the match, jumping to an early 6-1 lead and never looked back to claim the first set. In the second set, Maine Maritime went up by 10 points before the Hornets got on the board, winning that set as well. The third set has similar action, with the Mariners scoring eight-straight points to claim a 3-0 victory.
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Rachel Melampy (Duxbury, Mass.) tallied a game-high 11 kills, on .625 hitting, three digs, and one ace.
  • Chloe Weeks (Farmington, N.H.) hit seven kills, while Ila Smith (Lexington, Ky.) recorded six kills, hitting .556.
  • Katie Albritton (Hutto, Texas) dished out 20 assists, five kills, one dig, one ace, and one block assist.
  • Calysta Lohman tallied three kills and Saleena Porter recorded six assists.
 
Up Next: Maine Maritime improves to 16-2 overall and 6-0 in conference, while NVU-Lyndon falls to 0-20 on the season and 0-6 in conference. The Mariners return to action on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00pm when they host Husson University in a conference matchup.
