CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime volleyball fell to Bates College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 26-24) in a non-conference matchup to round out the regular season.

How it Happened: The first set was a lot of back-and-forth action between the two teams, with the Bobcats finding a way to string together enough points to win by two. In the second set, Bates got off to a quick 10-2 lead and never looked back. The third set was similar to the first, with multiple lead changes. The Mariners were up 22-21, before the Bobcats took control to win the match 3-0.

Inside the Numbers:
- Katie Albritton (Hutto, Texas) dished out a game-high 23 assists, while tallying five digs, one kill, and one block assist,
- Rachel Melampy (Duxbury, Mass.) recorded game-highs of 11 kills and 14 digs, in addition to a block assist.
- Ila Smith (Lexington, Ky.) hit .545 with six kills and a block assist.
- Alyssa Lowther tallied 10 kills for the Bobcats, while Emma Eide dished out 18 assists.

Up Next: The Mariners fall to 18-3 overall, while Bates College improves to 6-15. Maine Maritime returns to action on Saturday, October 19 when they host the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division tournament in Smith Gym. The Mariners will take on UMaine-Presque Isle at 1:00pm for a quarterfinal matchup.
