Series History: The Mariners are 11-8 overall against the Eagles, winning the last three matches between the two teams.

Last Meeting: Maine Maritime Academy men's lacrosse picked up a 13-6 win over Husson University on Saturday night on Ritchie Field.

Prior to the game the Mariners recognized their senior players: Max Barton (Yarmouth, Maine), Tanner Brown (Conway, N.H.), Matthew Emery (St. Johnsbury, Vt.), Bailey Stockford (Mt. Vernon, Maine), John Stolz (Scarborough, Maine), Zeke Tocci (Naples, Maine) and Sawyer Watson (Topsham, Maine).

With the win the Mariners conclude their shortened season at 2-1 overall, while the Eagles fall to 0-2.

How it Happened: The Eagles scored two goals to start the game, but the Mariners responded with three-unanswered goals to end the first quarter with a 3-2 lead.

Husson scored two goals to start the second quarter, but the Mariners held the Eagles scoreless until the fourth quarter, meanwhile building an 11-5 lead. The Eagles added another goal to cut the Mariners' lead to 11-6 but Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) and Watson tallied goals in the last six minutes of the game to secure the victory.

Inside the Numbers: Watson led the Mariners with four goals, one assist and three ground balls, while Tocci contributed three goals, three ground balls and a caused turnover and both Wilson and Jed Astbury (Bridgewater, Vt.) tallied two goals. First-year players Chandler Coombs (Brunswick, Maine) and Riley Morin (Harpswell, Maine) each tallied a goal and an assist. Coombs also led the Mariners with eight ground balls, while William Davee (Hope, Maine) added six ground balls and a caused turnover and Stolz caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls. Noah Caramihalis (York, Maine) went 9-of-12 from the faceoff, and scooped up four ground balls.

Gunner McAllister led the Eagles with four goals, five ground balls and a caused turnover, while Ben Huynh tallied the other two goals and Gus Eisenmann caused two turnovers and scooped up three ground balls.

In net, Maine Maritime's Garrett Ruszkowski (Saugus, Mass.) collected 14 saves for the victory, while Husson's Shawn Ragaglia turned away 18 shots in the loss.

Mariners Last Game: Maine Maritime men's lacrosse fell to Rivier University, 11-9 in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened: Rivier University started off strong, scoring two man-up goals and two even strength goals, before Ian Haines (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) found Alex Stevens (South Portland, Maine) for a goal to put the Mariners on the board with a score of 4-1 at the end of the first quarter. The Raiders scored first to start the second quarter before Stevens found Sam Nichol (Concord, N.H.) and Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) for two goals to make the score 5-3 at halftime.

Rivier extended their lead by three goals before Haines found Stevens again for his second goal of the afternoon. Brendan Reddington (Wallingford, Conn.) ended the third quarter with an unassisted goal to make the score 8-5 in favor of the Raiders going into the fourth. Maine Maritime started off the quarter strong when Wilson scored back-to-back goals to cut the Raiders' lead by one. Rivier answered with two quick goals to go back up by three. Stevens scored two more goals on the afternoon, while the Raiders scored one more on their way to a 11-9 win.

Inside the Numbers: Stevens led the Mariners with four goals, two assists, and one ground ball. Wilson added three goals, one assist, three ground balls, while Reddington and Nichol chipped in one goal each. Haines picked up a game-high eight ground balls and tied the game-high four caused turnovers.

Alan Cozzolino led the Raiders with three goals, two assists, and one ground ball, while three Raiders chipped in two goals each. Kyle McGuire picked up five ground balls and Cole Perreault tied the game-high four caused turnovers.

Zach McCarthy (Malvern, Pa.) tallied 11 saves in 60 minutes for the Mariners, while Sawyer Gagnon recorded 12 saves for the Raiders.

Maine Maritime held a 46-43 advantage in shots and Rivier held a 41-36 advantage in ground balls.
