CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime men's basketball fell to NVU-Lyndon 91-94 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Friday evening.

How it Happened:
Carter Rubin (Littleton, Colo.) scored five straight points to give the Mariners a quick lead to start the game. The first half continued with some back-and-forth action, with multiple lead changes, but the Mariners came out with a five point lead going into the half.

The Hornet quickly regained the lead in the first two minutes of the second half and held on until the last minute of play, when
Malachi Reincke (Houston, Texas) hit a layup to give the Mariners a one point lead. The hornet then came down, scored a layup and then 'and one' to take back the lead and eventually claim a 94-91 win.

Inside the Numbers:
- Reincke led the Mariners with 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
- Curt Heinz (Stuttgart, Germany) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 20 rebounds, along with four assists and four blocks.
- Markus Ramirez (Colorado Springs, Colo.) tallied 14 points off the bench.
- Gregory Gonyea Jr. and Peyton Olson each had 31 points for the Hornets.
- The Mariners shot 50% from the floor and 35.7% from the three point line, while the Hornets shot 46.7% from the hardwood and 25.9% from three point land.
