BOSTON, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country finished 25th out of 26 teams at the 2023 Suffolk Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened: Fifth-year
Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) paced the Mariners, placing 156th in the 233-runner field, with a time of 29:44.5 on the 6k course. Junior
Aubrey Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) placed 193rd with a time of 32:29.7.
Sophomore
Kylie Cantlon (Burke, Va.) finished 195th with a time of 32:41.2, fifth-year
Sarah Smith (Kirkland, Wash.) finished 217th with a time of 35:55.7, and first-year
Lillian Diversi (West Gardiner, Maine) finished 221st with a time of 37:17.2 to round out the top five finishers for the Mariners.
Inside the Numbers: Colby College and Bowdoin College finished tied for first with team scores of 62 each, with Bowdoin slightly edging out Colby with a total time of 1:58:04 to Colby's 1:58:19. Wellesley College finished in third with a team score of 114 and total time of 2:00:26. American International's Fransiscah Cherotich was the top finisher with a time of 22:59.9, Keene State's Margaret St. John finished second with a time of 23:02.8, while Bowdoin's Stephanie Chun finished third with a time of 23:07.4.
