Lyndonville Vt. – Mariners volleyball wrapped up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Vermont State University-Lyndon. This secured the Mariners with a perfect 10-0 NAC conference record during the regular season.
The Mariners opened the first set by scoring the first seven points. After Lyndon scored one lone point, the Mariners scored the next 18 points unanswered to win the first set.
Makenna Middleton who led the Mariners with 11 service aces had a dominant run in the first set, scoring seven service aces in a row.
The second set was back and forth for the Mariners in the beginning.
Grace Jennings had back to back kills to score points eight and nine. The Mariners also went on a 10-0 run in the second set that ended with a kill by Lily Pierannuzi.
Ila Smith, who tied with
Ally Hadley, led the Mariners with seven kills.Ila had as kill that scored the first point in the third set for MMA. Smith also finished the contest with a .778 hitting percentage.
The Mariners wrap up the 2023 regular season at home on Tuesday against the University of Maine at Fort Kent at 6:00 PM.
