CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball (2-2) were downed in a close battle with the Fisher College Falcons (4-2) by a final score of 80-85.

Josiah Dancy scored a career high 26 points in the contest. Dancy also tallied six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

After finding themselves down by seven to start the game, The Mariners took the lead with 12 minutes left to go in the first half with a made three from Dancy. After a back and forth battle between the two squads,
C.J. Lilljeqvist made a three to take a one point lead for the Mariners heading into the half.

The second half remained close until the Falcons went on a run to put themselves up by as much as 12 with just under two minutes left. The Mariners cut into the lead, including back to back threes from Dancy and Lilljeqvist.

Curt Heinz ended the game with a layup to bring the Mariners within five in the narrow lose. Heinz also lead all players with 21 rebounds in the battle while also gathering 13 points for a double-double on the night.

Cross Bandy was the leading scorer for the Falcons, ending with 17.

The Mariners remain in Castine for their next contest against Bowdoin College on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2:00 pm.
