CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball team (4-3) defeated the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals (3-5) by a final score of 83-61 behind
Curt Heinz's double-double.
Heinz ended the night leading the Mariners with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The junior center also tallied six assists and four blocks.
The Mariners opened up the contest scoring the first five points unanswered. The Mariners continued their dominant performance holding the lead for the entirety of the game.
In the first half, the Mariners nailed 10 threes to help head into half time with a 20 point lead. The Mariners continued their strong performance throughout the second half. After a dunk from Heinz and two made free throws from
Seamus Raftice, the Mariners had a 29 point lead, their biggest of the contest with two minutes left to go. MMA ultimately won the contest by a 22 point margin.

Markus Ramirez who ended the night with 11 points, three assists, and one rebound.
Josiah Dancy also had a double digit performance ending with 10 points, six assists, and one rebound.
The Bengals were led by Aidan Grady who ended the night with 14 points and one rebound.
The Mariners remain in Castine to begin North Atlantic Conference play with a contest against the University of Maine-Farmington on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1:00 pm.
