CASTINE. Maine – #1 Maine Maritime Academy volleyball (21-5) captured the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division with a 3-0 victory over #3 Vermont State University Johnson (12-15) Sunday afternoon. The win propels the Mariners into the NAC Championship match for the 15
th consecutive season. Â

Sydney Williams led the Mariners with 10 kills, three aces and five digs. She racked up four kills on as many points in the third set.
Katie Albritton fueled the offense with 19 assists and added five aces.
Sydney Rich led all Mariners with nine digs.

The Mariners opened the match scoring six unanswered points beginning with an ace from
Hunnie Zuber-Stephens. Johnson never really threatened with MMA winning 25-11, 25-10, 25-8.

Max Ludlow led Johnson in aces (2), assists (8), and digs (6).

The Mariners will host the NAC West Division Champions, Eastern Nazarene College, next Saturday for the league title and NCAA postseason bid. The time will be determined on Monday. The 27-2 Lions will make their first NAC Championship match appearance in their first year in the league.
