CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team (4-3) defeated the University of Maine Farmington Beavers (2-7) by a final score of 89-42 to open up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play this season. The 47 point margin of victory is the largest for the Mariners this season.
 
Evelyn Dagan led the way for the Mariners scoring 14 points while also tallying three rebounds and two steals. 
Erianna Moore also had a strong performance for the Mariners, finishing with a double-double off of 11 points and 12 rebounds. Moore also had three assists, blocks, and steals.
 
The Mariners opened up the contest with a basket from 
Jasmine Anderson. MMA held their lead until just over five minutes to go in the second when Farmington tied the contest at 21 a piece. With the game tied, the Mariners went on a 17 point run to go into halftime with a substantial lead.
 
Maine Maritime continued their dominate performance, scoring 33 points in the third quarter. The contest ended with 12 Mariners earning points, four making it to double digits.
 
The Mariners continue NAC play on Dec. 7 on the road against Husson University with a start time at 7:30 pm.
