Bangor, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team (5-3, 2-0) moves to 2-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play defeating the Husson University Eagles (4-4, 2-1) by a final score of 63-53.

Erianna Moore saw the court for the entire 40 minute contest and scored a season high 23 points, leading all scorers. The junior guard also ended with four rebounds, four assists, one block, and a career high five steals.
Sydney Briscoe also had a strong night for the Mariners, earning a double-double off of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Briscoe also tallied one assist, one block, and a career high four steals.

After falling behind by six at the end of the first quarter, the Mariners opened up the second quarter with a three from Moore. The Mariners and Eagles went back and forth in the contest until the Mariners went on an eight point run that included buckets from Moore and
Makenzie Monzon that put the Mariners up by three, their first lead of the night.

The Mariners and Eagles continued to keep the game close in the third with the Eagles up by one heading into the fourth. MMA secured the win in the fourth, scoring the final nine points unanswered to win the contest.
Another impressive performance for the Mariners includes
Makenzie Monzon who tied her career high, scoring 17 points. Monzon also secured four rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
