BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball team (5-4, 1-1) fell to the Husson University Eagles (8-1, 3-0) by a final score of 51-90.
 
Curt Heinz led the Mariners scoring 15 points and was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine. Heinz also tallied three assists, two blocks, and one steal.
 
The Mariners had a strong start in the contest, scoring the first two buckets from Heinz and C.J. Lilljeqvist. After a close start, the Eagles went on a 15 point run to end the first to take an 18 point lead. The Eagles ultimately closed out their win in the second half.
 
Husson was led by Riles Neff who earned 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, one block, and two steals.
 
The Mariners return to the court after winter break on Tuesday, Jan. 2 on the road against Colby College at 2:00 pm.
