CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime defeated UMaine-Fort Kent 74-44 on senior night in a non-conference matchup Monday evening.

How it Happened: The Mariners got off to a quick start with two threes from
Merek Mercado (Buellton, Calif.) and
Tyler Gobeil (Scarborough, Maine) to jump start a 14-0 run. Maine Maritime continued to build and extend their lead throughout the first half of play, going into halftime with a score of 46-21 in favor of the Mariners.

Maxwell Tomlin (Monroe, Maine) started off the second half with two free throws for the Mariners as they continue to dominate the Bengals. Maine Maritime eventually claimed a 74-44 victory.

Inside the Numbers:
- Carter Rubin (Littleton, Colo.) and Isaiah Oquendo (Orlando, Fla.) both had 12 points for the Mariners.
- Curt Heinx (Stuttgart, Germany) added 10 points, 12 rebounds, seven blocks, and five assists off the bench.
- Kelvin Bowen and Velijko Culibrk both had seven points for the Bengals.
- Maine Maritime shot 45.5% from the hardwood and 38.5% from the three point line, while the Bengals shot 28.2% from the floor and 18.8% from beyond the arc.
