CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime women's lacrosse fell to Husson University 19-14 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Senior Day.

How it Happened:
Beth Labbe (Brunswick, Maine) put the Mariners on the board in the first minute of play, followed by a goal from
Hazel Stoddard (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) to make the score 2-0. The Eagles answered with four straight goals, before the two teams each scored two more goals to make the score 6-4 in the first quarter. Husson outscored the Mariners in the second quarter, taking a 10-7 lead going into the half.

The Mariners came out of the half strong, cutting the lead to one with a goal from
Rebecca Caron (Naples, Maine) before the Eagles took a two-point lead going into the fourth quarter. Husson University held onto their lead in the fourth quarter, taking a 19-14 win.

Inside the Numbers:
- Stoddard tallied four goals and three assists, along with 15 draw controls, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
- Caron added three goals, four draw controls, and one ground ball.
- Lily Cook (Southwest Harbor, Maine), Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.), and Labbe each scored two goal, while Olivia Harriman (Orrington, Maine) scored on goal.
- Averi Baker and Laela Martinez each scored four goals for the Eagles.
- Ella Bowes (Valley Lee, Md.) tallied nine saves in 30 minutes in net, while Kelsey Melton (Great Falls, Va.) had five saves in the second half for the Mariners. Emily Godfrey tallied 15 saves for the Eagles.
- Husson held a 41-35 advantage in shots and a 17-9 edge in ground balls over the Mariners.
