UTICA, N.Y. – Maine Maritime women's lacrosse wraps up the regular season with a 16-12 win over SUNY Poly in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Hazel Stoddard (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) led the charge for the Mariners with nine goals and one assist, along with four draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover.

How it Happened:
Rebecca Caron (Naples, Maine) put the Mariners on the board first with an unassisted goal within the first three minutes of play. After a long seven minute stretch of no goals, the Wildcats found the back of the net to knot the game at 1-1 and spark some back-and-forth action between the two teams. After a competitive second quarter, the Wildcats took a one point lead over the Marines going into the half.

Maine Maritime come out on fire in the third quarter, scoring seven consecutive goals, sparked by Stoddard, to take a 14-8 lead to end the third quarter. The Wildcats tried to come back in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late and the Mariners claimed a 16-12 victory to wrap up the regular season.

- Stoddard led all scorers with nine goals and one assist, along with four draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover.
- Caron and Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.) each recorded three goals for the Mariners, while Olivia Harriman (Orrington, Maine) added one goal to the mix.
- Kaitlin Kopcza and Molly Burdick each had six goals for the Wildcats.
- Kelsey Melton (Great Falls, Va.) got the win for the Mariners with 12 saves, while Jayden Brown had 12 saves for the Wildcats.
- SUNY Poly held a 40-38 advantage in shots and a 16-13 edge in ground balls over the Mariners.
