WENHAM, Mass – Mariner volleyball wins their first conference game of 2023 with a 3-0 win over University of Maine, Presque Isle.
 
Mariner Leaders

• The Mariners were led by Sydney Williams in kills (20) and Annabel Frieden in assists (20) and digs (10).
• Hunnie Zuber-Stephens, Sydney Williams, and Annabel Friden each led the Mariners in aces with two.
• Chloe Weeks and Sydney Williams each got one block, the leaders for the Mariners.

Set #1

• The Mariners opened the first set in a very impressive fashion after being tied at 2 a piece, Maine Maritime went on to score the next six points.
• In the six point run, Sydney Williams got four kills.
• The Mariners biggest run of the game for the Mariners happened when they scored points 17 through 23 in a row. This run started with a kill from Ila Smith, followed by three kills from Williams, then a bad set by UMPI, and lastly kills from Williams and from Sam Urch.
• The mariners won the set 25-15.

Set #2

• Maine Maritime dominated the beginning of set number two, scoring the first 10 points unanswered.
• This large run included kills from Sydney Willams and Ila Smith as well as a service ace from Hunne Zuber-Stephens.
• Points 23 and 24 for the Mariners were kills by Williams and Grace Jennings.
• The last point came from a service error and the Mariners won set two 25-15.

 
Set #3

• The Mariners opened up the third set in another dominant fashion, scoring the first seven points unanswered.
• This run began with a service error, followed by kills from Katie Albritton and Ila Smith, then two Sydney Williams kills in a row, followed by a service ace from Annabel Frieden, and another kill from Williams to end it.
• Maine Maritime scored the last three points of the set with a two kills from Katie Albritton, with a kill from Aly Hadley in between them.
• Maine Maritime won the set 25-14.
