MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Curt Heinz scored a career high 41 points and moved to fifth all time in the Mariners record books for most points scored in a single game. Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball (5-7,1-3) fell to SUNY- Morrisville (12-2, 4-0) by a final score of 80-93.
 
Along with Heinz 41 points he earned a double-double on 14 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and one steal.
 
Heinz impressive night began right in the opening minute, scoring the Mariners first three of the game. The Mariners found themselves down by 10 with just over three minutes to go but responded with a 10 point run to tie the contest at 42 heading into halftime. Carter Rubin scored the first three of the run followed by the next seven points being scored by Heinz.
 
With the game tied at 51 in the second, Morrisville went on a five point run that the Mariners were unable to come back from. The Mariners were downed by a 13 point deficit.
 
Maine Maritime continue North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play tomorrow against SUNY-Delhi at 1:00 pm.
