DELHI, N.Y. – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball (6-8,1-4) fell at the buzzer to the SUNY-Delhi Broncos (9-5,4-1) by a final score of 66-67 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match.

Curt Heinz led the Mariners with a double-double on 24 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and one steal.

The Mariners had a strong start to the contest that included a 10 point run in the first that put the Mariners up by 14. The run started with a bucket from
Markus Ramirez followed by a jumper from
Jack Banks.
Carter Rubin hit back to back layups followed by a bucket from Heinz to cap off the run. The Mariners went into halftime with a 15 point lead.

The Broncos chipped away at the Mariner lead in the second. The contest was tied at 53 a piece with 9:41 left to go. Ramirez and
Seamus Raftice each sunk a pair of free throws to put the Mariners back up by four. The remainder of the contest went back and forth and the Mariners found themselves up by one with less than a minute to go.

Warren Davis hit a layup at the final buzzer for SUNY-Delhi that gave them the win.

Maine Maritime take the court next on Friday, Jan. 19 at 5:30 pm on the road against NAC opponent the Vermont State University Lyndon Hornets.
