LEWISTON, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball (7-10) fell to the Bates College Bobcats (4-15) by a final score of 94-68. Curt Heinz led the Mariners and secured a double-double in the contest with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The junior center shot 50%, going 10-20 from the field.
 
Along with the double-double, Heinz added four assists, two blocks, and one steal in the contest.
 
The Bobcats came out to a hot start, outscoring the Mariners 34-17 in the first 13 minutes of the game to take a 17 point lead. Bates continued to build off their lead, taking a 55-31 lead heading into halftime.
 
The second half was more of the same action, as the Bobcats claimed the 94-68 victory.
 
Isaiah Oquendo, Jack Banks, and Seamus Raftice  all ended the night with eight points for Maine Maritime.
 
Marc Begin II led all scorers for Bates, securing 25 points, five assists, two steals and one rebound.
 
The Mariners return home on Friday, Jan. 26 at 5:30 pm for a North Atlantic Conference match against Lesley University.
