CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime men's basketball (8-10,3-5) defeated North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent the Lesley University Lynx (4-15,2-7) 68-47 on Friday night.
 
The Mariners jumped off to a quick start against the Lynx, taking a 14 point lead after the first 10 minutes of play. The Mariners continued to stay in front of the Lynx, entering halftime with a 34-19 lead.
 
Maine Maritime continued to hold onto their lead throughout the second, outscoring the Lynx 34-28 in the second half to secure the victory.
 
Curt Heinz and Markus Ramirez led the Mariners scoring 13 a piece. Heinz also ended the night with a double-double, adding 22 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks, and one steal. Isaiah Oquendo ended in double digits for the Mariners, scoring 12.
 
The Mariners remain home for their next contest versus Lesley tomorrow with jump ball set for 1:00 pm.
