CASTINE--The Maine Maritime Academy sailing team had a very busy weekend at three events that was highlighted by the yacht race at the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta in Larchmont, N.Y., where the Mariners finished in second place among eight schools. Maine Maritime also was The Mariners also were sixth at Peak Foliage hosted by the University of New Hampshire and 13th at the Atlantic Coast Tournament hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland.
In New York, Maine Maritime scored 12 points to trail just Coast Guard Academy with eight points in the PHRF-Medium Class. Senior
Kyle Carse piloted "The

Rover" that beat six other boats. Carse won the first two races and finished second in three of the next four to wrap up the day.
In Durham, N.H., Maine Maritime tallied 41 points to beat seven schools in the Peak Fall Foliage event. Junior
William Ries and sophomore
Isaac Thompson recorded 25 points in Division A, while senior
Joe Zubelik and freshman
Matthew Diaz notched 16 points for fourth place in B to comprise the team's total score. There were three races in each division.
At the Atlantic Coast women's-only event in St. Mary's City, Md., Maine Maritime earned 293 points for 13th. Freshmen

Jane Marvin, and senior
Amelia Griffith notched 157 points in Division A, while senior
Ella Beauregard and junior
Julianna DeMarco produced 136 points in Division B (10th place).
Maine Maritime hits the water again next Saturday and Sunday for the
McMillan Cup hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md., and
Oberg Trophy hosted by Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
