"It's an unusual weekend for us... big breeze on Saturday with long puffs over 20 knots and one at 30 knots, and unusual pairings," explained Maine Maritime dinghy coach
Delaney Brown. "The skipper in B division is actually our A division crew and both of these pairings in A and B divisions have only sailed with each other a handful of times. (But) We're pretty locked in at the back of the fleet here, but this was a program-first for us that the ladies made happen with much determination. We're very proud of them."
The Mariners are back in action next weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md., for the Kennedy Cup hosted by the Naval Academy.
