NAC East Division Leader Thomas Too Much for Men's Soccer

WATERVILLE, Maine--Host Thomas College scored four goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 North Atlantic Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Maine Maritime Academy at Smith Field on Friday evening. The Terriers (7-1-1 overall) lead the NAC East Division with a 5-0 conference mark, while the Mariners fall to 3-5-1 overall and 2-3 in the NAC East Division.

  • Defenders Harris Stoddard, a sophomore, and Gordon Lewis, a freshman, each generated a shot on goal.

  • Joshua Joseph, David Ivarsson and Tristan Kjartansson had a goal and an assist apiece.
How It Happened
  • Thomas scored the only goal it would need in the 19th minute on Joseph's fourth goal of the fall.
  • Nearly four minutes later, Kjartansson added an insurance tally on assists from Micky Woodrow and Joseph.
  • The Terriers outshot MMA 16 to 9, including 7-4 on goal.

  • Maine Maritime will reset for its home date tomorrow afternoon (1 p.m.) against local rival Husson University in a NAC matchup at Ritchie Field.
