DELHI, New York – Maine Maritime men's lacrosse beat SUNY Delhi 11-9 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Riley Morin, and
Sam Nichol all had two goals each to lead the charge for the Mariners.

Wilson found Morin for the Mariners first goal of the night three and a half minutes into action. The Broncos quickly answered before Maine Maritime went on a 3-0 run sparked by Stevens to make the score 4-1 to begin the second quarter. The Broncos answered in the second quarter with three consecutive goals as well to knot the game at four. The two teams went back-and-forth with the Mariners taking a one-point lead going into halftime.

Nichol and
Trey Marcil each scored a goal to start the third period and extend the Mariners lead by three. The Broncos answered with two of their own before
Addison Thawley scored in the last couple seconds of the quarter to make the score 9-7. SUNY Delhi closed the gap to one to start the fourth, before Nichol and Morin each found the back of the net. The Broncos added one more goal to the mix, but it was too little too late as the Mariners took an 11-9 victory.

The Mariners held a 41-34 advantage in shots, while the Broncos held a 41-32 edge in ground balls and won 19 of the 24 faceoffs.
Garrett Ruszkowski made seven saves in his 60 minutes in net, while Mike Triolo made 12 in the game.

Maine Maritime returns to action on Sunday, April 21 at 12:00pm when they take on SUNY Cobleskill in NAC play.Â
