CASTINE, Maine – Ten Mariners score in a 26-5 win over Thomas College in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Wednesday evening on Ritchie Field.

After a scoreless four and a half minutes of action,
Jacob Hintermaier found the back of the net in an unassisted goal to put the Mariners on the board.
Alex Stevens,
Addison Thawley, and
Jayden Wilson followed up in the next two minutes with a goal each to put the Mariners up 4-0 before the Terriers scored at the seven-minute mark. Maine Maritime went on to dominate the rest of the first half, scoring nine consecutive goals, sparked by a goal from Stevens, assisted by
Bryce Crowell. The Terriers scored in the last ten seconds of the first half to make the score 13-2 going into the half.

Riley Morin and
Noah Caramihalis each scored a goal to start the third quarter, which was quickly matched by the Terriers. The Mariners answered with 11 straight goals in the second half, sparked by Stevens again to extend their lead to 26-4. Late in the fourth quarter, Thomas College put their last goal in the net to make the score 26-5 in favor of Maine Maritime.

Maine Maritime outshot the Terriers 79-38, while holding a 53-25 advantage in ground balls and a 19-13 edge in faceoffs. The Mariners were also 4-for-5 in extra man opportunities.
Garrett Ruszkowski picked up the win for the Mariners, making eight saves in the first half, while
Zach McCarthy came in, in the second half, making seven saves on the night. Daniel Guarino spent all 60 minutes in net for the Terriers, making 19 saves on the evening.Â

The Mariners return to action on Sunday, April 28 at 1:00pm when they travel to New York to take on SUNY Canton in their last NAC matchup of the regular season. This matchup was rescheduled from March 23
