PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer dropped a 1-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) decision on the road against the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday afternoon. The Owls improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Mariners drop to 2-2-1 overall.

Maine Maritime Highlights

• Senior Kirra Magaña led the Mariners with a game-high 10 shots, including five on net
• Classmates Emma White and Hazel Stoddard added nine and six shots, respectively
• Sophomore goalie Isa Thesing collected five saves in the loss

University of Maine at Presque Isle Highlights

• Madelynn Morrow scored the lone goal for the Owls
• Shelby Theriault added an assist
• Alexis Ireland paced the Owls with four shots, including three on goal
• Mia Voisine collected a game-high 17 saves

How it Happened

• Morrow broke the tie early in the first half when she broke through the Maine Maritime defense and finished one past Thesing in the third minute to give the Owls an early 1-0 lead
• The Mariners pressured for much of the first half, putting nine shots on goal, but the Owls held onto a 1-0 lead heading into halftime
• Maine Maritime continued to apply pressure throughout the second half taking an additional 20 shots and putting another nine on frame, but the Owls defense held strong to hold the Mariners scoreless
• The Mariners outshot the Owls 36-8, including 18-6 on goal, and held an 11-1 advantage in corners on the afternoon
