James Baur Nets a Pair as Men's Soccer Rallies for 2-2 Draw at Southern Maine

Box Score GORHAM, Maine--The Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer team rallied twice to forge a 2-2 tie at Southern Maine at Hannaford Field on Wednesday evening. The visiting Mariners are now 0-1-1 on the season while the Huskies stand at 0-1-2. Due to new NCAA playing rules this season, teams do not play an overtime period during the regular season.

  • USM had a late chance to get the game-winner, but Jack Brady's shot was blocked by the MMA defense with 32 seconds remaining.
  • The Huskies won the shooting battle, 15-9 (8-5 with shots on goal), but the Mariners kept offensive pressure by creating seven corner kicks.
