How it Happened
- Maine Maritime, which led just 34-26 at the intermission, outscored Lesley 48-30 in the second half to turn a close game into a rout.
- The Mariners shot 55.9 percent from the field (19-34) over the last 20 minutes to separate themselves from the Lynx, who shot 35.4 for the contest.
- There were two ties and three lead changes in the game's opening 6 minutes, but MMA took control with a 14-0 run over a span of 6 minutes and 28 seconds that turned a 9-9 tie into a 23-9 cushion at the 8:29 mark. Back-to-back treys by Ramirez sparked the scoring spurt.
- A three-pointer by Tarell Joseph (5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) to begin the second half cut the deficit to 34-29, but that would be the closest the Lynx would get the rest of the way.
- The Mariners responded with a 21-6 run in 7:09 to increase their lead to 55-35 with 12:00 remaining. Ramirez again ignited the run with a 3ball.
- Maine Maritime held a 15-point-plus lead for the final 16:08.
